Description and Rationale: These artifacts are evidence of my co-teaching lesson with another student teacher. We collaborated on a Math Lesson to teach in her 5th grade classroom. The co-teaching model we used is called Station Teaching.
Reflection: I really enjoyed collaborating with Jessica on portions of this lesson. If teachers could find the time to collaborate and co-teach lessons, the students would greatly benefit from this method of instruction because of the low student-teacher ratio it offers. Jessica and I did not fully collaborate on every aspect of this lesson. She created the pre- and post-assessments, decided on content, designed grouping strategy. I created the station rotation plans, flip-chart fractions, and the graphic organizer. I also prepared my own activities for my station. What I would do differently in the future is to collaborate on all aspects of the co-teaching. I was only able to come into the classroom for thirty minutes because of my schedule. Jessica taught whole group prior to my arrival and then we split up into groups for our station teaching. I wish I could have been a part of the whole group lesson as well.
