Description and Rationale: I used this learning styles inventory in both of my placements because I felt that it was appropriate for the young students I was working with. After discussing the results with my first placement cooperative teacher, the results were indeed accurate. I found it to be quite interesting when comparing the results with each of the student's personalities. After I obtained my results from this assessment, I created materials and utitlized materials already in the classroom so that these students' needs in the multiple intelligence areas were being met. I utilized the ActivBoard, created flash cards, hands-on games, graphic organizers, Turn-and-Talk strategy, quiet reading time, whisper phones, etc..
Reflection: I obtained this Learning Styles Inventory from a previous student teacher who is currently teaching first grade. This inventory is effective for younger students because it uses a smiley face for the "yes" answer and a sad face for a "no" answer. One thing I noticed when administering this assessment is that some of the younger students in first grade did not want to circle the sad face no matter what. A few students circled the smiley face for every question. This made the results for these students inaccurate.
