My Farewell Letter
April 25, 2011
Dear First Grade Parents,
Friday, April 22, was the last day of my student teaching requirement in Mrs. Bryant’s classroom. I would like to take this opportunity thank each of you for your support over the past eight weeks. I was allowed to come into the classroom to observe and teach lessons which gave me an opportunity to learn from practical experience. This practical experience coupled with the college courses I have taken has provided me with the tools necessary to become an effective teacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed training under Mrs. Bryant’s guidance. She is an amazing teacher and I can’t say enough about how wonderful her students are. This was an experience of a lifetime and one that I will never forget. Each and every student in Mrs. Bryant’s class is truly special and I am going to miss them tremendously.
Sincerely,
Caroline Mobley

Decription and Rationale: This is my farewell letter I sent home to the parents of my first grade students. I did n't want to leave without telling them that my student teaching requirement in Mrs. Bryant's classroom had come to an end and I also wanted to thank them for all of their support during my eight weeks in their child's classroom.
Reflection: I am pleased that I sent this letter home to the parents. It is good practice to get into the habit of communicating with parents. Effective and open communication to and from parents is very important.
